What a Strange Week

What a Strange Week

You know, I thought it was just me who was feeling off this week, but after chatting with a few friends and acquaintances, it seems to be across the board. All week I’ve just felt less than stellar, like I was in a daze or a fog, and I’ve just been exhausted and sluggish. Add in Little Man who picks up on emotions more than the rest of us, who has been extra clingy and teething (that second canine is soo close to cutting!), and I’ve really been a hot mess.

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I know it has to do with all the craziness in the world with this pandemic and the isolation orders. The full moon has not helped things either. Then we have the cold polar front coming down from Canada, and hard freezes in the mornings, and it’s just been tough. It has warmed up enough to get out with Little Man in the afternoons, but I miss our two outdoor adventures per day we had been having prior to all of this.

I think that is a big part of it; I love being outside and reconnecting with nature. We have very sandy soil up here, and so many gosh darn anthills, so I’ve not been able to be barefoot. I’ve had terrible reactions to ant bites in the past, so I’m not taking any chances. And with Little Man, I just don’t want him to get bitten either, so I’m keeping him in pants and boots when we are out.

I’m hoping that recognizing what is going on, and the fact that the moon will start waning, that next week will be better. The extended forecast is still calling for chilly weather, so I’m hoping to find some sweatpants at Wally World tomorrow for Little Man. Dang kid has outgrown his 2T pants already! I’m also going to start doing yoga again during naptime; to give me some time for myself and to just relax a bit and get re-centered.

Have a great weekend, all!

A dear (rather demented) friend of mine always says “the only normal person is the one you don’t know very well.” I think much the same thing can be said about the way days feel. Maybe it I’ve lived just long enough now to realize that everything can and will change in the moment you don’t expect a change and the thing around the corner can be good or bad… there’s just no way of knowing. Hang in there. This too shall pass (maybe kinda like a bad case of dysentery, but hey, that works too!). Thanks for keeping us in the loop!
