Mimi’s Banana Cake

Mmmm…Banana Cake! This recipe came from my friend’s grandmother-in-law. It is a dense, moist, cake that is just so dang delicious! P.S. This pairs well with my Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Butter
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 Cups Flour
  • 2 Tbsp Baking Soda
  • 6 Tbsp Sour Milk (Add 1 Tsp Vinegar to Milk)
  • 2 Cups Mashed Bananas
  • 2 Teaspoons Vanilla
  1. Preheat Oven to 350F
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar
  3. Add Eggs, one at a time
  4. Add Flour
  5. Dissolve Baking Soda in Sour Milk, then add to mixture
  6. Add Vanilla
  7. Mix in Bananas – Batter will be stiff
  8. Pour into greased and floured pan (I prefer a bundt pan), and bake 60 minutes, checking for done-ness with a toothpick or cake pick
  9. Cool, then frost with Cream Cheese Frosting
