A Familiar Sight by Brianna Labuskes

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was quite the mystery. Every time I thought I had it all figured out, I had to think again!
Gretchen White is a well-known psychologist who consults with Boston Police on murder cases for Detective Shaughnessy.
This time, the case seems open-and-shut: Viola Davis finally snapped and stabbed her mother. But when the attorney representing Viola (a long-time friend of Gretchen’s) dies, Gretchen gets involved and continues the case Lena had been working.
Knowing right from the start that Gretchen is not only a psychologist and criminologist BUT also a psychopath who Shaughnessy first met when she was a child and accused of murdering her aunt, it was neat to see how Gretchen applies not just her degree but her own past into solving the case.
I’ll definitely be reading Book #2 in this series.
