The Art of Starting Over by Heidi McLaughlin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Devorah finds out her husband has been having an affair with her best friend…for a while…when her friend makes a confession video on social media. Hayden’s wife was killed several months ago and has had a tough adjustment being a single father. These two childhood friends pack up their children (and lives) and move back home, running into each other on their children’s first day at the local school.
Dev and Hayden have a bit of a romantic history, with a lot of “will they, won’t they” back and forth over their teenage relationship. They quickly pull together as they navigate life in their small town, avoiding the stares of the local gossip-mongers.
I’m a sucker for a good romance, and this one definitely kept me up all night into the wee hours of the following morning to see just where things ended for Dev and Hayden.
