Keeper of Enchanted Rooms by Charlie N. Holmberg

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh my word – I LOVED this book!
Merritt is estranged from his family but suddenly (and quite surprisingly) inherits a house when his grandmother dies. He’s an author, and his living situation isn’t exactly the greatest, so he packs up his few things and heads on over to Whimbrel House…to find out that it is haunted-ish.
Hulda shows up from BIKER (Boston Institute for the Keeping of Enchanted Rooms) and immediately sets to work identifying the exact type of haunting and hiring a maid and cook. Hulda has experience with enchanted homes and starts to find that her past catches up with her.
Just what exactly is that past? And what IS Merritt’s connection to the house (and BIKER)? While I saw the end coming, it was definitely not in the way I expected it.
