Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I picked this book up, thinking “Hey, I’ve wanted to read this for a while.” However, once I started reading, I realized that I HAD read it previously, probably about 15 years ago or so.
Once again, I loved it. Mary Roach takes you on the journey of what happens to your body when you donate it once you die. It may be separated, with various pieces sent to be used by doctors in training (she starts out visiting a course on face-lifts, and how unsettling it is to see only heads on the tables), sent to the “body farm” in Kentucky where they are studied to identify how long it has been since a person has passed, and more.
I think I will keep this on my “to read” list, and come back to it again in another 10-15 years!
