We’re slowly finishing up our unpacking of Little Red House. This week’s project has been the spare room/office.
Squatch brought out several boxes over the past few days for us to go through. Everything was either toss, keep, or donate. I have a small box that has a few things to be donated. There were two boxes that ended up full of old papers, folders, etc. And I’ve two boxes that are keeps.
The biggest surprise was there there were two boxes full of books in there. Squatch and I thought we had gotten all the book boxes out and sorted between our fiction and non-fiction shelves. We were wrong. After going through the boxes, the majority of books ended up being non-fiction, and I put them on the shelves in the living room. There are a few that will stay in the office – Robert’s Rules of Order, Legal books, etc.
The fiction books have all been shelved appropriately, but I have some work to do over on the non-fiction side. A lot of the books are too tall to stand on each shelf. I had contemplated switching shelving units, because there is more space between the on the fiction bookshelf. That thought was quickly nixed, because I don’t want to move ALL THE BOOKS back and forth. I haven’t made a decision yet, but I think I’ll re-sort all the non-fiction books this afternoon/evening and figure out a better way to organize the shelves. Who knows…we may decide to donate some of the ones we’ve been holding on to!
Keep an eye out for a future update on the bookshelf and office situation. We’ll have something done by next week!
