Whew…that week is over!
Little Man and I had a fun week. He did spend a lot of time drawing and colouring, and is getting so much better at straight lines and circles. He also is counting on his own as he plays, no help needed from me! We need to work on letters, but that is ok. He’s still young, and is learning in leaps and bounds! We spent a lot of time outside, because it was so absolutely gorgeous! I love it when you can tell that Spring is on the way (Yeah, we’re supposed to get rain and snow Monday and Tuesday, but it’s been AMAZING this past week).
The weekend, we were at the lake house, and it was not quite as refreshing as it has been in the past. Little Man and I spent A LOT of time outside, but my mother is feverishly working to get her food truck up and running at the end of the month, so it was just not relaxing to be there like normal. We did go for several walks; the only animals we saw this weekend were a handful of birds and chipmunks.
Sunday, my cousin drove the farm truck over and she pulled the boat out from its winter spot next to the garage; “She AMAZING!” was Little Man’s reaction to watching from the front door while we got ourselves ready to go out there. Then we cut down 6 large branches from the tree that is right there. The food truck would not fit with the branches in the way. So, my parents are picking it up this week from the place that is doing the wrap on the trailer and truck. We shall see if the trimming worked, or if we will have to go back and do more.
On the housing front, we did find a property with potential. It IS on a busy County highway, which is not ideal, but the home and property have a lot going for them. Squatch is hopefully going to see it before work Monday or Tuesday; assuming he can get in before offers are made and accepted. I’m telling you, this housing market is ridiculous. If you saw last week’s “Lettie Loo-ses It” episode on Odysee, you will know what I’m talking about. Homes are listed at noon and then pending or contingent by 6! Multiple offers, sight unseen on these homes that are coming up for sale. We keep trudging along, hoping to find something that will work for us, and that Squatch can actually get in to see. We’ve had some homes that look great online, and when you get to see it, it’s a complete shit hole from the crappy renters that have been in it. So frustrating, people!

I will admit – I was not the best chef this past week. I did make some DELICIOUS biscuits and gravy Friday morning at the lake. My youngest brother loves it, so of course he didn’t eat any. I managed to spread it out through the weekend, and even made some fresh biscuits Sunday morning to enjoy.

The garden is going great! My dad and I each had a big salad Wednesday night, and when we returned Sunday afternoon, the AeroGarden was looking full again!
The Dill is still growing like a weed. I’m working to figure out how to help it out, from the dampening, but it looks great; so dang bushy! Chamomile really took off while we were away, and is super bushy as well. I’m going to be transplanting the newer herbs this weekend: Coriander, Lemon Balm, Italian Large Leaf Basil, Italian Giant Parsley. They are all looking great, but their roots are definitely starting to try to escape their little pods.
I think I’m going to pick up another container for some of them. I don’t want to overplant in the pot I have the first set of herbs in. Plus, I know that lavender turns into a bush, so that I think I’m going to transplant into its own pot as well. I’m really excited to see how well this gardening experiment has taken off. I have always killed plants when I’ve had them in the past, so this is definitely a boost for me!
