So…there was a big thing that happened this week. A really big thing, and I’m not talking about the election. It was my sorority’s 121st Founder’s Day. As we have the past 4 years, this year we celebrated with Founder’s Day of Giving, as a way to donate money to the Sorority Foundation that supports the organization. For the first 4 years, I was always the first donor. This year, I had a challenge – whoever beat me got $200 donated to their chapter of choice in the Collegiate Chapter Challenge. I sat and waited TWO. WHOLE. MINUTES. to hit submit on my donation, and I was only the fifth donor. While we did not raise as much money as last year, we still collected about $165,000, which is amazing, given all of the uncertainty and financial instability this year.
Little Man and I spent a lot of time this week at the park. We walked there every day, and he had so much fun playing, running around, climbing and then sliding down the slides, swinging, and learning how to climb the climbing wall. I think if the weather holds out and we go every day again this week, he will be able to do it all on his own! We’ve also been doing walks right before or right after dinner. Check out the sunset shots below from last Monday’s walk!
My old train friend, Julie, has a blog. She’s a book lover, and her blog is all about reviewing the books she reads. Last week she had a little contest to win a homemade bookmark. Guess who the lucky winner was? You guessed it: Me! Be sure to check out her blog over at JulzReads. She’s currently doing Nonfiction November.
Little Man and I ended the week hanging out with some sorority sisters in the city. We had brunch with mini waffles and mimosas. You cannot beat that, and Little Man loved being able to look out over the expressway and see all of the cars and trucks passing by. When we got home, all he wanted to do was run through the leaves. So, who am I to judge and say he can’t do it. I was out there with him, running around and kicking up the leaves! He even brought his Freddie Flamingo with him and threw him through the air to “fly” and land in the leaves! Yeah, yeah, yeah…I know the pictures are blurry. But have you ever tried to get a good picture of a running 2 year old?
Anyway – be sure to follow my page on Odysee – I am no longer going to be using YouTube. Last week, a video of mine was flagged as “inappropriate.” You guys, it was a video of a hot air balloon flying across the sky set to music. How the heck is that inappropriate?! I don’t know, and I don’t care to know. So, I will not be putting up videos on the tubes of you, they will only be on Odysee.
Last, but not least, NaNoWriMo 2020 is going swimmingly. I’m furiously typing away during naptimes, and am loving where the story is taking me so far. If you follow me over on MeWe, I will be sure to start posting my daily tallies there. If you’re participating in NaNo this year, let me know in the comments. I love to cheer other writers on, and Amy, over at A Farmish Kind of Life, and I are currently just about even with the words we’ve written this month.

Got some thoughts for The Loo?
