November

November

It’s November! That means it is time for NaNoWriMo 2020, and I’m super excited. I did my writing on the 1st: 1,823 words done out of 50,000. Hooray!!! I’ve still a ways to go, but that’s how this goes. Take it day by day, and I’ll have 50,000 words in no time at all.

Last week was a fun one. Tuesday, Little Man and I went to my aunt’s farm, where my cousin took us on a ride on the Gator to see the cows and around the back of the property to close up a few gates. Little Man LOVED the cows, and kept looking for “Daddy Cow!” He promised Cousin Moo that next time he would go on a ride on the Bobcat with her. He was not quite ready for it this trip. He was a great traveler that day, as well, as we stopped for McDonald’s nuggets and fries and then drove back to the suburbs once we were done visiting.

Thursday, it was a busy day in this household. Little Man had his 2.5 year old check-up at the doctor: 75th percentile for height, 95th percentile for weight. And, he’s doing great with his development; all of my fears seem to be for naught. We’ve just got a couple of things to work on, and he will be golden. Papa also had rotator cuff surgery Thursday morning – his left shoulder was done, so we’ve been in nursing mode in the house since he got back home Thursday afternoon. Little Man is great with “Papa Owie.” He is gentle and quiet when we ask him to be, and he loves to help with Auntie Bailey – he carries her food bowl to and from her room, gets a can of green beans for her lunch from the pantry, lets her in and out of the back door when we ask, and he LOVES to give her treats.

We did not do anything special for Hallowe’en, my parents are too worried about COVID and getting sick, so he was not allowed to trick-or-treat. Instead, we watched Hallowe’en movies: Nightmare Before Christmas, Frankenweenie, Corpose Bride…See the theme there? I did pick up a small cake from the grocery store during my shopping trip on Friday, so we had a “Boo”-tiful and spooky dessert.

The 1st started NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month. This is my second year participating, and I’m once again writing by the seat of my pants. I have an idea for a story, and no thought as to where it will go, so we shall see where the typing takes me. I did the same thing last year, and actually ended up dreaming a bit and getting inspiration that way. Wish me luck!
