I tell ya – this was a crazy week.
Last Sunday, Squatch was with us for a few hours. He had driven down Saturday with MIL for a family birthday party. Little Man and I had a great time with Squatch’s family Saturday evening, and I was so glad for Little Man to get the opportunity to play with his little cousins. Then we got to spend the night with Daddy, with Little Man snuggling up with him on the couch as we binged The Mandalorian.
Squatch had to head back to the Northwoods Sunday morning, so we took advantage of having him with us for a few hours and cuddled on the couch watching “Moana,” before we had to bring him back to MIL. I felt so bad for Little Man – he cried his heart out when Squatch moved his bag and coat to MIL’s van and said goodbye. It breaks my heart that this is happening, but being away from Squatch and the toxic environment up Nort is worth it for the calmness and growth I’ve seen in Little Man these past two months.
Monday, I swear I had the plague. Getting ready for bed the night before, I felt a chill and some achiness, so I popped some extra Vitamin C, elderberry gummies and oscillococcinum. The next morning, I was dizzy and nauseous. It was not a good feeling, but I managed to get Little Man downstairs and fed. Then I turned on T.O.T.S. on the tv for Little Man and I zoned out on the couch with a pot of tea. I kept up with my Vitamin C & elderberry throughout the day, and by the time we went to bed, I was already feeling tons better. Waking up Tuesday, I couldn’t believe it…I felt like a completely different person, so I quickly packed the suitcase, fed Little Man his toast, and we headed up to the lake. I haven’t had any other issues…other than the occasional cough, but that comes with the fall and sinus and allergy issues.
We spent the next few days working to get the Hallowe’en decorations set up in the yard for the weekend’s spirit tour the association sponsored. There were only 4 homes participating, including ours, but that was ok. I did make a run into town to pick up a few things at WalMart to make my sloppy joes for Friday’s dinner. My parents had driven to Dubuque Wednesday and noted that Sams and Aldi had a lot of empty shelves – produce, butter, cheese, milk, so I kept my eye out at the local Wally World. I noticed that they were extremely short on the various canned tomato products, pasta, flour, and rice. So, I picked up doubles of each thing that they had left on the shelves in those areas. These items are now in a trunk I picked up, along with a water storage jug. Paper products still looked good, and my parents picked up doubles of paper towels and toilet paper when they were at Sam’s, so we are good on those fronts for a while.
I do plan on running to the local health store when we get back to the burbs this week – my Amazon Subscription is no longer covering my monthly vitamins, so I’m going to check out prices and see if I should pick up a few months’ worth there or just get them on the Amazons. I’m good for elderberry – I added those back to my subscription at the beginning of summer, so I’m pleased about that. I also need to refresh my allergy and sinus homeopathic meds – they have been used A LOT these past few weeks. I also need to see what they have for flu, especially for little ones.
Last, but certainly not least. I do have a YouTube channel, but with the way things are going, and censorship, I’ve moved all of my videos over to LBRY/Odysee. You can find everything on my channel, @LibertyAllDay. I’ve also got a video of the lights and decorations from this weekend – check it out here!

Got some thoughts for The Loo?
