Hey There!

Hey There!

Well, it was a busy couple of weeks. Little Man and I drove down to Illinois to visit my parents for a week or so, and it turned into three weeks.

We spent the majority of our time at the lake. We went on so many adventures: Trail Rides, Walks, Hikes at local parks (one caught us off-guard with the super steep walk down and then up the trail; and I had the darn stroller with me!), Swimming and Boating on the lake. All in all, it was an absolutely wonderful visit. I’ve got a gallery at the end of this post highlighting our adventures.

I did get to do a few projects while we were down there. My parents are selling a house, and they had the siding redone on it earlier this year. Well, the siding guys banged on the walls so hard, they knocked some grout loose from the master bathroom shower. My DIY skills came to the rescue, and I regrouted the section that fell apart. Just an FYI for y’all – make sure you have the tools you need for the job. After searching the tool box for the grout removal tool, I ended up just using a paint can opener and the knife I had on hand. Got the job done, but not what I would have liked. And, of course, as the grout is setting and I go to the garage to help my mother clear it out, she shows me a tool belt from a family friend who had been helping them out. In the one pocket was the tool I had been looking for!

It was a great trip, and I honestly did not want to leave and come back North. Yes, I missed Squatch like crazy, but I was not looking forward to coming back to this house with his parents. Luckily, we are working on a plan to get out of here, and we are hopefully going to be heading south; not to Illinois, but closer to the border so we are only a few hours away from the rest of our families, but still in Wisconsin. I’ll keep you guys updated on this plan. In the meantime, enjoy going through the pictures below from our trip!
