Saturday was the 4th of July, Independence Day. We had a little party here at the in-laws’ home. That entailed a lot of cooking and baking the day before, and a ton of cleaning the morning of.
MIL created a new firecracker door hanging, which was a great addition to the door!

Squatch and I were tasked with picking up a new tablecloth. Unfortunately, Walmart only had one size round, and one size rectangular (we did go the morning of the 4th, and had no idea what size the table was with the leaf in it). Knowing we were going to potentially have a card table set up, we went with both. Unfortunately, neither fit the table correctly. So, FIL and I had the great idea to cut the round tablecloth in half, and tape each half to the ends of the table. We then folded the rectangular tablecloth somewhat, and taped it down on top of the rounds. It ended up looking pretty good, and the entire table was covered!
We had a great assortment of food: pulled pork, burgers, and hot dogs for the main course, several different pasta salads and coleslaw for sides, and then there was dessert. So many desserts were made. We had a coconut pie, fruit salad, blueberry & raspberry trifle, black cherry poke cake, and my strawberry poke cake. It was delicious!
