Git ‘Er Done!

Git ‘Er Done!

This week I’m focusing on getting my side hustle moving along. I shared it with some of my social groups yesterday and have gotten a lot of “Great job!”, “Way to go!”, “That’s great!” from everyone, but no bites yet. That’s perfectly fine. I’m just glad I put it out there.

I have three main goals this week: 1. Create an invoice template; 2. Create Google form for potential clients to fill out to request services; 3. Pick a WordPress subscription. I’ve gotten the first two done already this morning, which is AMAZING. That gives me more time to focus on looking into WordPress and figuring out which subscription to choose so I get rid of the .wordpress.com at the end of my url.

I reached out to my aunt this morning. She owned her own business for decades, and I worked for her on and off for about 20 years. Most recently, I helped her with her accounting and billing as she wound up the business. I figure she is one of my best supports and lifelines as I embark on this adventure. I’m hoping she has some constructive feedback on my website as well as thoughts for how best to get it moving right along.

Once I get my WordPress subscription figured out, I do have a few more items to take care of. I have to once and for all look into PayPal, Google Pay, and other payment options. My state requirements for starting up a business are another area to look into. If I don’t get these done this week, that is ok; I can always push them to next week.

I’ve got one gig already, and it will be ongoing, as I am going to transcribe a friend’s monthly farm journals. I’m going to take a look at her old blogs, which she used as her farm journals in the past, to get an idea of how she has formatted them and such. Then it will be time to get started on creating the document that the journal I currently have will become. I honestly don’t expect it to take me more than 4-5 hours to do, which is great. If it does take longer, then I know what my limits are, and can adjust accordingly for future journals.

What is your GSD for this week?
