Fear is powerful, if we allow it to be. How many times have you not done something because you were scared? You could be scared of what the end result may be, you may be scared of getting hurt, you may be scared you will be laughed at; everyone’s fears are different.
One of my biggest fears is clowns. I think the things are creepy, and completely untrustworthy. I prefer to see a person’s face, and with all the makeup, creating the face the clown portrayer wants you to see, you do not know their true underlying thoughts and feelings. I also feel that the bright colours and false faces are just creepy in general. Ugh. Why do so many people think clowns are a great thing for kids? Come on.
Anyway, I decided to try something new today, which I’m also hoping will help me get over one of my fears. I do not like public speaking. My stomach gets tied in knots, my palms get sweaty, my heart starts racing, it’s just not comfortable. However, I’ve known this for several years now, and it’s a fear I’ve been working to overcome. Having so many people looking at me while I’m talking puts a ton of pressure on me, and I do not like to slip up while speaking. That being said, I decided to do a FaceBook live late this morning as I took today’s loaf of beer bread out of the oven. I hope I did ok; I have not yet watched it. You know, when I went to FB later to take a look at it, I could not even find the video, so I may have deleted it without airing it. Who knows. I’ll figure it out at some point. But, I thought I may as well do an intro video, showing my freshly baked bread coming out of the oven, as well as introducing myself. I am going to do a FaceBook live later this week on how I bake my bread, this was my test. I hope it worked, and that I can find it later to actually see how good or bad it was.
See, I want this blog to become more than just my random ramblings. I’m trying to find my niche in this world, and I think if I can make a few videos, and put them on FaceBook or YouTube, it may help bring me some more views and just give me a bit more of an audience and get a feel for what my readers are looking for. So, what do you want to see? I will start out just doing some quick videos on my recipes, or what we see as we are out and about in the neighbourhood. I have shared some short videos on the Liberty All Day YouTube channel, please check them out, and bear with me as I figure out how in the world to edit them. I can be such a Luddite at times. So, join me as I face and work to get over one of my fears!
