How Are We All Doing?

How Are We All Doing?

As I got Little Man down for his nap today, I realized that tomorrow, I should be reunited with Squatch for 3 weeks. Instead, I’m still down here, in my 6th week of visiting with my parents. This past Friday, it had been 5 weeks since I saw my husband in person and hugged and kissed him. Little Man has not been able to cuddle with his dad or wrestle with him in 5 weeks.

We re-evaluate our situation every few days; should Little Man and I stay down here a bit longer, or should MIL/FIL drive down tomorrow to pick us up? Should Squatch drive down, spend the weekend with us, and head back himself, or should he take us with him? Is there a case (or cases) at the plant that he works with? Is the risk of him being exposed, and not getting sick, but spreading the virus to his mom and stepdad the same as him also potentially exposing Little Man and I to it? If his parents drive down to pick us up, and they get sick as a result of a stop they have to make, how will we handle that? I would feel so incredibly guilty if, as a result of our decision to have MIL & FIL drive down to get us during the week, one of them got sick. I know for a fact that we would never hear the end of it from them if that happened.

So, we just keep on keeping on, checking in throughout the day via text, Hangout video call, Voxer message, and enjoy the fact that we are not completely cut off from each other. Do I wish we were together? Absolutely, but I also love the fact that I can take Little Man outside each day down here; Squatch said they got 8-10 inches of snow yesterday in a festive Easter snowstorm. I definitely want to be back North by Little Man’s birthday, which is in mid-May. But will we be going back this weekend, or in two weeks? I don’t know just yet. It is still up in the air, but what I do know is that I want to be back with my husband soon, as the weather clears up and the sun comes out and warms everything. I want to be a family again.
