Hearts…Hearts Everywhere!

Hearts…Hearts Everywhere!

We’re really getting into the hearts in the windows mode here. Little Man is absolutely loving our colouring sessions after breakfast. Today he did not colour very long, but his paper got cut into a heart, and it is now in our bedroom window. They are not very easy to see from the road, but they are definitely there!

Nanny went through all of her holiday boxes (once a teacher, always a teacher; needing decorations for each holiday) and found her heart flag and some Easter flags as well. We hung the heart flag from the garage attic window, and the Easter flags are hanging on the porch. I’ve seen that in the suburbs, people are starting to place Easter eggs in their windows and around their lawns for kids to find as they walk or drive by. We don’t have any eggs, but we’ve got our spring-y flags!

We did spend part of our morning working on potty training; Little Man had an accident in the three seasons room. Papa and I were with him, and I grabbed him, running him to the bathroom to sit on his potty. He sat down, was all done peeing, because he emptied his bladder right away in the three seasons room, and got up with some swagger and walked into the hallway, calling for Papa. Silly kid, Papa was cleaning up his pee from the floor! We left him nakey for a while longer, and then it was time to get dressed with a diaper; we were going on a trail ride!

Even with the promise of the ride, Little Man was a beast to get dressed. As soon as we got him on the porch and he saw the garage door open, though, he was over the moon and herded us down and to the ATV. I love seeing him so passionate about something. He always has the biggest grin when we go on our rides. The north crossing was really high; not high enough to get into the ATV, but it was a lot higher than the other day. Little Man loves seeing the water as we drive through it. Bird-wise, we saw a ton of Cardinals, a few bluejays, and one bald eagle flying around today. Yeah, there were a bunch of Canadian Geese swimming on the lake, but they don’t count as birds, they are pests!

Take some time to get outside today. Paint a heart. Put up a fun flag. Just enjoy yourself, and share that love with your neighbours. You never know whose day you will make when they see the teddy bear peeking out of your window or your window hearts warm their own.
