Today has felt like something out of a movie. I drove into town this morning to pick up a few week’s worth of groceries so that Little Man and I have some fresh fruit and veg while we eat what is in the pantry and freezers here. As I walked out to the car, I noticed that there was some pretty thick fog out there, and reminded myself to stay alert. As I was driving down the road, at some points, I could not even see 10 feet in front of the car, it was so thick!

Due to all of the twists and turns, and the hills, at times the fog was as thick as pea soup, and at other times, I could see a good half mile to a mile in front of me. It was like the opening scenes to a scary movie; I did keep an eye out for zombies coming out of the fog, but all I saw were the occasional horse or cow. Being in town was strange. There were very few cars parked anywhere, and for a tourist town, this is quite unusual. The grocery store was not very busy, but then, it never is, most just go down the road to WalMart. I was able to pick up everything that was on my list, abiding by the limitations set by the store on how many of each item I could purchase. We’re having hamburgers tomorrow night, and biscuits and gravy tomorrow morning!

After getting back, we loaded up the car seat into the back of the larger ATV, and we all bundled up for a trail ride! Little Man had the biggest smile on his face the whole time we were driving, and when we got to the other side of the lake and visited with our cousins for a bit, he was in the best mood! I love going on the trails in the late fall and early spring; you can see so much, all the different houses, angles of the lake you can’t usually see when the trees are covered in leaves.
There were no boats to be seen; the lake was quite still, but the waterfall at the south end was roaring, and we sat there for a minute or two, just watching the water spill over and down, creating a fine mist that came out to the road.

What adventures do we have in store? I don’t know just yet, but we are definitely in the right place to have them!
